Some days you remember for a long time. For our team, December 16, 2025 is one of them.

That’s the day we broke ground on the new home of Lakeville Family Pet Clinic at 7275 175th Street West. It was December in Minnesota, so you can guess what the weather was like. None of us minded one bit.
Why we’re growing
When we started this clinic, the goal was simple. Be the kind of vet we’d want for our own dogs and cats. Get to know the families who walk through the door. Treat every pet like they’re part of ours, because to the people who love them, they are.
Lakeville said yes to that. Families from Apple Valley, Farmington, Rosemount, Burnsville, Eagan, and all over Dakota County said yes too. Over the years we’ve had the privilege of caring for more than 13,000 patients.
That’s a lot of wagging tails and a lot of cats who would really rather be home. And it’s a lot for our current space on Dodd Boulevard, which is about 3,300 square feet. We’ve made it work, and we’re proud of it. But we knew the families who count on us deserved more room.
What we’re building
Our new clinic is a two-story building of about 9,030 square feet. That’s more than double the space we have today.
More space means more room to care for your pets, more comfortable places for you and your pet to wait, and modern facilities designed around the way our team works. We’ll share more of what’s inside as the project moves along.
What isn’t changing
Here’s the part we care about most. Moving to a bigger building doesn’t change who we are.
We’re still independently owned. No corporate office is making decisions about your pet’s care from somewhere far away. Decisions are made here, in Lakeville, by people who know you.
We’re still AAHA-accredited, which means we hold ourselves to the standards that come with that.
And we’re still the same team. The same doctors, the same front desk faces, the same technicians who know which pup needs extra treats and which cat needs a quiet corner.
Thank you, Lakeville
A groundbreaking is really a thank you. It’s only happening because so many families have trusted us with their pets. Every checkup, every puppy visit, every late afternoon call has helped build this.
We’ll be sharing photos and updates as walls go up and rooms take shape. Follow along here on the blog and on our Facebook page.
In the meantime, nothing changes about how to reach us. We’re still caring for pets at 17510 Dodd Boulevard, and our phone number is (952) 595-6500.
Your pet is family. We’re building a home to match.
